Windsor, Woodslee, Belle River, Ontario
It was time to make sure our new ( used ) car was still in good shape for our next leg of the tour so off to mr. Lube for a check up. $200. Later we were assured that all was well . ” Singer / songerwriters : they can make tens of dollars ” ….ha ha ha. We better keep sellin’ those c.d.’S … lol
Waterlo, Ontario, Concert
We had the honour of performing our music for the cursillo group at st. Anthony daniel church hall last night.
Waterloo, Ontario
After another wonderful breakfast at kia-ora b & b in niagara on the lake we packed up and headed out.
Niagara Falls
We had a blast today at niagara falls. It has been years since we visited the city and it was just as thrilling to stand above the falls and hear the roar of the water or to be at eye level with the falls on the hornblower boat ( a sister of the maid of the mist ).
Niagara On the Lake
The sun returned for our walk around the town before our afternoon show at the chartwell manor senior’s centre.
We have had the good fortune of visiting niagara on the lake a few times and it was really nice to return. We had time to ‘break into shopping’ and then a quick lunch before our afternoon concert.
Destination: Niagara on the Lake
Today was all about the journey to arrive safely at our destination so not a lot of photos to share.
We left ottawa at about 10 am and arrived in niagara on the lake around 8 pm. We are exhausted but safe.
Ottawa Concert
Spiritline had a wonderful time in ottawa these last 2 days. We had the chance to meet one month old felix for the first time, the new baby of our neice, kara, and her husband, ryan.
Carleton Place (Near Ottawa)
Terry and I decided to explore the town of carleton place where we are staying in preparation for our show near ottawa tonight.
A visit with old Friends in Ontario
We had a lovely day for our drive to ottawa . Terry found an interesting old mill which is apparently the mcdougall museum. It was a picturesque place to walk about for sure and I am positive I will eventually enjoy painting some of these scenes.
Madonna House, Combermere, Ontario
After traveling through another amazing day of sunshine and colour we arrived at madonna house to prepare for a concert we wanted to give for our dear friends , many of whom lived in our city of edmonton , their mandate there to feed and clothe the poor.
Tilted Steeple Show
Spiritline made it just in time for sound check in the basement of st. Jame’s church. ( I was very happy for the elevator the church happened to have !) What a fun venue : the tilted steeple was started by isabelle delage from montreal. She and her husband , leo, cowrite a lot of her songs and they not only hosted the folk club that night but hosted the performers as well at their home after the concert. Wow !
Morrisburg, Ontario
Well, finally found an internet access so am able to continue my blogging journey of our canadian tour.
Mont Tremblant, Quebec
We arrived last night to the beautiful mont tremblant where we spoiled ourselves with a nice hotel this time. It is a wee town that reminds us of whistler in b.c..
One Last Look at Montreal…
After one more chiro for terry ( who is feeling better and better everyday) we headed out looking for the thing that everyone says we had to try ( and the one thing I was avoiding….ha ha) ….our first taste of poutine. Terry’s chiropractor gave him a recommendation of the ‘best poutine in montreal’ and so we drove to la banquise .
Montreal Smoked Meat, Notre Dame, And a quest for Pumpkin Pie
Blessed with another sunny day for our exploring, we started off walking the streets and checking out the shops.
Old Montreal, Part 2 (Thanksgiving)
The lighting hit this ferris wheel just perfectly tonight…
Old Montreal Part One
Today was another super day ( despite bad backs and knees, etc.)
We really enjoyed looking around old montreal . There were many touristy shops that reminded me of banff but the buildings were gorgeous and the people watching ….great too.
Taking it Slow
Terry is moving a little better today after his chiro and massage. I am moving a little worse …ha ha…because my massage was so deep and there are so many hills here. But I am thinking that tomorrow will be a better day.
Montreal
What a day. Terry and I knew it was going to happen sometime. And it did. The inevitable…. Terry threw his back out . ( Now it wasn’t from reaching for a puzzle piece this time….wink wink to my mum) I knew he was moving more stiffly this morning as we tried to pack up our bags to leave quebec city and sure enough he felt the awful twinge when he reached down in the shower.
Quebec City
Terry and I only had one day here in quebec city, our 1st time here, so we wanted to make the most of it . Our concert was at st. Brigid’s retirement home. We expected about 20-30 people but it was more like 50 !
