Walkin in Sunshine
I keep learning lessons during this pandemic.
We figure it has been about fifteen years since we have been home for the whole winter…true ‘snowbirds’ we used to be.
COM-PASSION
Well, we survived the first week of Lent….ha ha. This is where we take a step back and think about the “Passion of Christ”
CARROT, EGGS, OR COFFEE?
A young woman went to her mother and told her about her life and how things were so hard for her. She did not know how she was going to make it and wanted to give up…
The Silver Skate Festival
We FINALLY had a break in the deep freeze weather and took advantage of the -5 to head out to the “Silver Skate Festival” at Hawrelac Park.
The Sunset
We have been in this deep freeze for 22 days.
Don’t get me wrong. I love my cozy home and I’ve had plenty of things to do to keep me busy.
ASHES TO ASHES
We had pancakes for dinner last night.
Shrove Tuesday can be explained this way.....
BLACK HISTORY MONTH
Black History Month is an annual observance originating in the United States, where it is also known as African-American History Month. It has received official recognition from governments in the United States and Canada, and more recently has been observed in Ireland, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom.
DEEP F REEZE FESTIVAL
What does one do when it is -30 outside in the evening? Go to the Deep Freeze Festival of course !
DARE TO LOVE
I have always loved the writings of Henri Nouwen.
With Valentine’s Day looming I am thinking about those I love in my life…present…and past!
The following writing by Henri Nouwen speaks to my heart about the everlasting love of real friendships…..
THROWBACK THURSDAY MUSICAL MEMORIES
As I’ve been working on my new website (to come) I have been going through years of concert photos.
I’m actually shocked at how many concerts I have done in the past 11 years. I thought I would share with you a few of my concert past memories….
GOING BANANAS!
I thought I’d share with you what I have learned about bananas lately. They are AMAZING!
Double Trouble
It’s hard to believe that thirty two years ago I had twin baby girls.
I had the wonderful blessing of having an indoor, socially distant early birthday visit with one of my girls, Emily, when she braved the -32 temperatures to come over for coffee and homemade cake.
NEW ILLUSTRATIONS
About one month ago I started the process of illustrating the ‘sister’ book to the first “Polly Aster” book, “The Diaries of Polly Aster”. Attached are some of the drawings I have completed.
OUR WINTER PAINTINGS
This weekend the highs will be up to -26 ! Brrrrrrrrrrrr!
But one thing that gives me peace and makes me feel content is when I surround myself with our own paintings of winter scenes.
ALL WE HAVE IS NOW
I saw this wonderful posting from my sister, Pamela, yesterday.
She collects chalkboards and uses them in all sorts of interesting ways from grocery list holders to straight up decorations.
Filling our days
When the pandemic became a daily reality and continued to worsen to the point where we became locked down I worried that the days would be long. Imagine my surprise with how the hours fly by so that I am often found exclaiming, “Where did the day go?”
