And Yet…
We had a day or two left of our Ontario visit and had the blessing of meeting up with even more dear friends.
I couldn’t believe we found yet another Kingsville restaurant that I’d never seen before… and yet again…I never looked past my 2 faves :Annabelle’s or Jack’s before… ha ha.
We met our friends, Pat and Dewar, at The Grove pub. It was a funky bar/restaurant with fun decor. (I refuse to mention the cock in the women’s washroom though.)
I was Dewar and Pat’s maid of honour at their wedding years ago and we all have many grandchildren all of us now. It was just a wonderful catch up kind of visit with some good food as well.
I will also miss my “Windsor guitar” too. I was able to rehearse when I could and it’s another lovely instrument that I only get to hold once or twice a year.
We also got to meet up at Kelsey’s with our dear friend, Fr. Gary (left) who married us and Fr. Bob, who was my first priest mentor all those years ago when I was in Youth Corps with Rose, Barb, and Mary. Wow! Those two have survived numerous health problems, some of which could have easily taken their lives. I guess God had other plans for them to keep inspiring others. They are both truly a couple of the great ones.
Then it was time to have one more lunch with Barb to say good-bye and enjoy her company after mass. She surprised me by purchasing my new ‘bridge painting’ that I did at my mum and dad’s house. I feel very honoured.
We went to ‘Twiggs’ in Emeryville and had a wonderful pub lunch again. Terry and I had ruebens. Yum. Barb liked her chicken caesar wrap too. Good choice!
Now I’m home and it feels SO good to be here. And yet….
And yet.
