More Family Fun

The other night we were invited over to my Uncle Dave and Aunt Heather’s for a delicious meal and great conversations. David is only five years older than me and he’s my mum’s youngest sibling. Dave continues to renovate the home he built himself and although the progress is slow the results are incredible! He has designed and created a spacious, comfortable place to live and we were the happy recipients of their hospitality. The slow cooker roast meal with crisped mushrooms, tender beets, mashed potatoes with gravy and with a blueberry trifle kind of dessert and coffee was excellent as was our fun evening. I will miss them very much.

Visiting with everyone generally involves a lot of good eating. ( And some ‘bad’ eating…ha ha) The next day, we were invited over to Terry’s brother, Ted’s home for a wonderful lunch with almost his entire family ( two of his sisters were missing that day). But we had the blessing of visiting with Terry’s sister, Cathy, as well and all kinds of our nieces, nephews, and their children too. It was a house full of love, laughter, and lovely people.

Joan and Ed treated everyone to and excellent catered meal from the Serbian Centre which consisted of tender, breaded chicken, and garlic breads. We also had homemade salad and a veggie tray. Ted’s wife, our hostess, is pictured in the 4th photo above with “Missy”, our nephew, Craig’s wife. Marissa, baby Daisy, Dustin, and Craig are in the next photo.

Terry’s beautiful Mama is just starting to recover from a many month’s long stay in hospital from a routine procedure that went horribly wrong but she is on the mend. His sister, Cathy, is very ill and needs our prayers. The children are all good friends and there was plenty of happy giggles as they ran around, completed puzzles downstairs, and ate together, cute cousins all….I think the oldest one is only 8.

I’m so happy we had a chance to be with so many family members this trip. It filled up my cup but it is time to head home after a month long visit.

Pray for our safe travels if you think of it.

Peace, friends.
