Parting Shots (part one)

Home now and thinking about the beauty of Kitsilano, from the urban busyness to the ocean and floral beauty both.

It was a mostly rainy Spring this time but the days when the sun came out almost seemed like a mother’s feeling after giving birth. (you instantly forget the darkness and hold onto the beauty in your hands).

The first image was taken just a couple of blocks from our apartment and our ‘home away from home’ is the bottom half of the home in the second image.

I’m already missing the greenery and the many flowers but the snow is gone here at home in Edmonton so I’m expecting some green to show up any day now.

Vancouver has such a mix of incredible high rises and old buildings which add a whole different type of charm.

Can you see that old “Toy’R Us’ sign? You can still see the original name of the old building underneath!

We found time to go to our favourite pie shop (Aphrodite’s) and our favourite lunch place (Burgoo) but we mostly cooked at the apartment or enjoyed meals with our children and grandsons at their homes.

So many wonderful experiences, tastes, views, pretty corners in Kits.

To be continued…..
