Windsor Hrastovec House Concert

I am already having a bittersweet feeling about last night’s house concert being our last windsor show. It was such a great great concert!

Peter and denise have been terry’s best friends since high school and both of them are the kind of people that anyone would feel blessed to have in their lives. Peter , my brother, john ( from ” bigg wiggle ” band fame ) and my sisters went to some extra effort to learn my music and their accompaniment made our music sound soooooo good.

Peter played some lovely piano on a few of my songs and also added some snare drum to some of the songs. When he added some military brush beats to terry’s ” maple leaf ” song I felt very emotional …as did the crowd.

John was incredible on lead guitar as usual and even when I asked him to spontaneously add some licks to terry’s ” the robertson 2 ” song he added so much !

My sisters have been through a lot this year in their personal lives yet they added their gorgeous harmonies to my songs and I feel so honoured that they agreed to do two of our concerts .

We had a wonderfully supportive crowd and I once again just loved the stories and conversations that happened at the breaks with these folks. I was amazed to find out that a cousin of the rankin family was in attendance !

Denise’s mum, mrs. Mayea, made most of the sweets for the group and they were delicious. My mum came to all 3 concerts . Yay!

The only thing I feel bad about was that we had asked peter to recite some of his poetry … and we totally forgot. Oh man. Apologies to our dear friend, peter. He is a master poet and we have 3 of his poetry books. I can highly recommend them .

So our concerts are done for a few days and I am looking forward to the break. But ..as I said…. I am not looking forward to leaving my family here on wednesday…..
