Fun, friends, Family
Second last day with friends and family in the windsor region.
I have know my dear friend, barb, since grade nine. We got very close through the belle river district high drama club ( a highlight for me was when we both played the ‘good’ and ‘ dark’ character traits of miss julie in the play of the same name ) .
Then, our wonderful new friend, the aforementioned rosemary, invited us to join youth corps and all of us ( including a must be mentioned mary lambert ( nee: dupuis) )became close friends for life. We live in 4 different cities and 2 different provinces but email ( and prayer!) Keep us close.
Anyway, barb and I got to hang out together yesterday . As we arrived to her home I felt like I was in a disney movie : wild turkeys frolicked in the yard, four large , black squirrels chased each other up a tree, and upon entering her newly renovated home her 2 ‘children’ ,mickey and lucy, ran up to ‘mom’ .
Barbara has always had a heart for animals. We joked one day back in our youth about what our bumper stickers might say. I laughed when barb’s said, ” I brake for dogs ” and rose joked…” I brake for nuns ” ..ha ha
I was lucky in one way today : barb treated me to the buffet lunch at casino windsor. That was the only way I was lucky… wink wink.
But I was blessed and still am to have a friend like barb. One of my forever friends and you would be so ‘lucky’ to be in her company.
We have enjoyed a few ‘wizard’ games with the family too. Terry’s mum, joan, said that she would dance on the table if she won . Unfortunately , the best she could do was a leg up.
Last night we met the drew family for dinner at armandos, on walker. They did a hilarious pose for me and they had me laughing till my stomach hurt last night. ” J.d. ” ( Brother john) and his bride, nancy ,were there along with their daughter, jacquie from toronto, and son, jordan and his girlfriend, brittany from windsor. I enjoyed my salmon salad and a nice glass of red wine.
As these hours are running away and I realize how soon we are going to be taking our leave ( tomorrow) I am starting to feel overly emotional . I love these people so much !
Yesterday , my mum and dad presented me with a beautiful reminder of our house concerts….a snow globe filled with houses. Sigh. I am blessed indeed.
