2022 !

For to us a child is born,

to us a son is given,

and the government will be on his shoulders.

And he will be called

Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Of the greatness of his government and peace

there will be no end.

He will reign on David’s throne

and over his kingdom,

establishing and upholding it

with justice and righteousness

from that time on and forever.

The zeal of the LORD Almighty

will accomplish this. Isaiah 9-27

J and D planned a little New Year’s ‘Count Down’ celebration early in the evening so the boys could feel like they too were ringing in the New Year with excitement and fun.

There was a count down app that we cast to the television and we watched as they counted down from ten and drove us crazy with their noise makers…ha ha.

The boys drank their ‘champagne’ (apple juice) and were allowed to have a small piece of cake before bed.

Once all had settled down, the four adults enjoyed pastas from our favourite Edmonton restaurant for this fare : Tasty Tomato!

I loved my glass of Malbec and the caesar salad and fresh bread with oil and vinegar was yummy. I helped myself to one of the four pastas we ordered and we enjoyed a relaxing meal together one last time for the season.

A silly game of “Wizard” rounded out the night and it was time to shut down the house for 2021 and look ahead to 2022.

Terry and I inevitably caught colds that everyone had when they arrived so we were pretty ‘punk’ and looked forward to trying to get a decent night’s sleep.

After hugs and saying our good-byes we sort of collapsed into the silence for a few minutes before we did laundry, dishes, and put away kids’ things until the summer.

We feel blessed to have had our family near us for the first time in three years but it is also a blessing to know that we enjoy the peace of each other’s company.

Sending you my wishes for peace and an attitude of hope…..
