The Best Gift

I love birthdays.

I love celebrating my own birthday and celebrating the birthdays of those that I love.

This year it was Terry’s 67th and it seems hard to imagine that we are getting this old. But he looks great and is feeling good these days so that is MY best gift. He is healthy and happy.

The day before his big day we decided to celebrate with dinner out because he was in a golf tournament all weekend and that was our best ‘window’. He felt like having a steak so we went to the old Sawmill and it was a really good experience. We returned home for my homemade apple tarts for dessert.

We had a visit with our friend, Jazz, at her new home to be and she had a surprise for Terry too. We enjoyed lunch out and had plans that evening to go to our neighbourhood poker game.

Karen and Bill are great supporters of local artists and while we were there I noticed THREE of my paintings up and one of Terry’s too! (I don’t love poker but oddly I’ve been doing very well at it lately, I think Terry and I were among the last 4 to be at the table at the end…ha ha)

So what did I give the young man for his birthday you say?

Well, he said that besides our children…ha ha….I gave him the best gift he’s ever received.

Terry will be receiving lessons with a local man who will teach him how to make his very own acoustic guitar!
