Pool Ladies
I felt honoured to be invited to a bit of a double birthday celebration at our new “Tony Roma’s” in town.
I used to do aquasize with all of these wonderful women. Our lunches were all huge, delicious, and only $15.50 each for the lunch special. Great deal! Such fun getting together again!
Happy birthdays to Gloria and Elsie!
The next day after working out in my new aquasize class I headed out with 3 new friends to Pigeon Lake for a potluck luncheon at the gorgeous cabin on the water owned by a husband and wife team from the pool.
It was a perfect day for our hour and a half journey , the sun shining and the canola smiling under that sun.
I think we were the last ones there but after Rita picked up the 3 of us and then went back to her own home to pick up her food (and a coffee stop at Timmie’s) we finally arrived all that time later.
We were greeted by our hosts’ grandchildren and they gave us directions to the food and drink stations as well as an incredible raffle station. Truly nice kids.
Karen, the owner of the cabin, is an incredible quilter and obviously incredibly generous too because she encouraged us to put our names in (no cost) to win one of 3 gorgeous quilts and 2 quilted purses. Wow!
There were tons of potluck salads to choose from and a slow cooker pulled pork pot too. I brought homemade carrot cake to add to the many yummy desserts I saw on display.
After lunch I had the great pleasure of being invited out on the pontoon boat to toodle around Pigeon Lake with our captain, (and cabin owner,Bob.) I was nervous about getting onto a boat with these bad knees of mine but all you had to do was step straight across from the dock to the deck of it …very steady and safe. (Getting up from my comfy seat was another story though…ha ha)
It was nice getting to know these great folks….and I’m so glad I went out to meet this whole other group of wonderful Edmonton ladies….and 2 men.
That evening Terry and I took in a free concert at ChristChurch. We will actually be the headliners there on August 16th!
It was a ‘tuba group’ and they were very good!
