The Art Of The Brick (Part Two)

Photographer Dean West from Australia ended up meeting Nathan Sawaya and they chose to collaborate to bring both of their art to a new level.

Nathan would create the Lego piece that Dean would insert into his realistic photographs. The result : Astounding.

But first: rounding the corner and seeing a full size Dinosaur made out of Lego was CRAZY!!!!!!

You can see how Dean used Nathan’s Lego pieces in his photographs. He uses human models, cool places, and inserts one or two Lego sculptures. See if you can find the Lego figures in these photos……

The elephants and rhino were about waist height but the giraffe and leopard were true to size as were the polar bears. Even standing close up to the photographs it was difficult to tell that there were Lego characters in there!

The kids’ Lego play area was very well used with thousands of Lego pieces with which to create. We headed outside for a small snack before handing in our tickets to see the latest IMAX movie about the Serengeti-which I purchased as part of the package which included the exhibition.

Obviously, you must go see this show if you live in Edmonton.

Tell your friends! Oh! And don’t forget to exit through the new gift shop!
