Crafting With Jewelry
We all know that Christmas is comin’.
This year I once again decided to pull out my crafting materials to make images out of jewelry that I collected, found, or was gifted.
I can’t show you all that I have made because it is possible that the receiver might accidentally see their gift.
But here are a couple of images that I have made this year……
The ‘snowy trees’ are in an 8 X 8 shadow box. I really like how this image turned out.
It takes a heck of a lot of work to make these things and this year I once again had help from Terry.
When I ordered the box online, it arrived with a wooden, light brown backing.
Terry completely built up a new back for it with art board and felt. Once I remove all the backings off any earring, brooch, etc., I then glue on tacs in their place.
The next day I have to put special crafting glue on the tacs before I push each piece into the new backing in the design I’ve created. I found the little ‘diamonds’ at Michael’s for the ‘snow’.
I decided I wanted to create a fabulous ‘couture’ lady for myself.
One time when I was in an antique store, I took a photo of a lady’s face that was on an old clock. This is the lady’s image that I printed out.
I set up my ‘template design’ and you can see all of the jewelry drying with the tacs now in place in my egg cartons.
I love the crazy headdress I created for my lady. She even has a real necklace glued over the photo image of one.
(Terry also helped me with the black, felt background of the lady.) Thanks so much!
I’ll be able to share my other craftings AFTER Christmas!
