Recording The Piano

The stars aligned and I finally had a chance to record the piano for my upcoming “Storm Heaven” album.

Albert Felicitas has been incredibly busy and I have been out of town so much.

But we found a couple of times to rehearse and then we chose the the Canada Day weekend for our recording sessions.

Despite the “Posed pout” you see on James Seabrook’s face, we had a lot of excellent , inspirational moments together.

James, from Two Bodies of Water Studios was so kind as well. He knew that his new studio had a lot of stairs and so to help me (ie. less pain) he brought all of his equipment to my home!

Albert brought his own piano over (with Terry’s help!) and we spent two days laying down the piano tracks for eleven of my original songs.

I am telling you that I couldn’t be more thrilled. Albert is SO talented and I loved all of our collaborations to get just the sounds that we were all looking for. You see when you have 3 opinionated musicians there can be some strong feelings about chords or chord progressions, etc. and I think we all worked very well together to get the best we could out of each tune.

Both men were extremely patient with me as well because I don’t read music. So, a bit of time was used up trying to figure out what my weird chord names actually were ( for example… “G * ” ) ha ha.

“ Mugging”….in more ways than one.

I am soooooo excited for you to hear this new album someday.

It just keeps getting better and better thanks to my wonderful musicians!
