Sip and Dip and A Tea Party

I can’t believe how blessed I am to have another ‘pool group’ of friends who love to be together….and now I’M included!

Recently, I was invited to my new friend, Beverly’s condo for her 7th annual “Sip & Dip” Party. (It was my first).

It was a blustery, fall day but the minute I arrived at her floor the ducks led the way to her condo. We are, afterall, called the “Aquaducks”!

She has a beautiful place and it was all decked out with , well, ducks (!) and all kinds of food , drink, and games too.

And that’s not all! I myself actually won TWO prizes and these were incredible gifts all purchased by Beverly. Wow! I pulled one of the rare blue marbles out of a bag to win some expensive skin care products and I won one of the games to win some equally expensive makeup. (She had many many prizes but I felt bad about winning 2 things so I gave some of mine away…ha ha.)

There were 30 of us that day and we all had plenty of room. Doing Aquafit must be good for us because Jane (seated in that last photo) is 96 and still shows up to work out. Wow!

I wanted to get to know our new neighbours better and Terry came up with a great idea : have a tea party for “C” and her 4 year old daughter, “E”.

I had fun setting up with room to make it look more like a ‘tea house’. Terry even made the table top bigger (we brought in our outdoor, backyard table) by making a wider, wooden top for it (!) At 2 pm the girls walked over (with a giant box of sweet of their own to say “thank-you”!)

There was a surprise ‘guest’ at the table too. And mr. hedgehog would go home with “E” as my parting gift to her.

I purchased the fancy delectables from 3 different pastry shops in Edmonton. “Mum” said that she and “E” would like black tea with cream and sugar so that’s what we had while we had great conversations about their recent trip to the U.K.

After our tummies had had enough I moved us into the other room where I introduced “E” to our toybox. She is a VERY smart little one. She did puzzles very quickly, knows her numbers, letters, AND she can already read!!! I really enjoyed getting to know “C” as we so far had only really spoken briefly when one of us walked by.

It was a delightful couple of hours and I think we all enjoyed ourselves.
