SUMMER IN YEG
I’VE BEEN DAYDREAMING ABOUT GETTING OUT OF THIS CITY. I DESIRE TO BE ‘FED’ BY MY TRAVEL EXPERIENCES AND TO SEE THE WORLD FIRST HAND.
BUT THE MORE I AM FORCED TO STAY HOME THE MORE I AM REALIZING THE BEAUTY THAT IS MY CITY OF EDMONTON. YEG.
THE SOFT BREEZES LIFT MY CURLS AS I TAKE A WALK AROUND THE NEIGHBOURHOOD. I WAVE TO NEIGHBOURS AND ENJOY THE LUSH RIVER VALLEY VIEWS SO CLOSE TO MY HOUSE.
I AM BLESSED WITH A LARGE FRONT PORCH FROM WHICH I HAVE RECEIVED OLD FASHIONED DROP IN VISITS FROM FRIENDS WHO HAPPEN TO BE BIKING BY AND STOPPED IN FOR A ‘SOCIAL DISTANCE’ CHAT.
I’VE HAD BREAKFAST THERE SOME MORNINGS , STEAMING CUP OF COFFEE AT MY RIGHT HAND AND THE NEWSPAPER IN MY LEFT. IT’S A LOVELY WAY TO WATCH MY LITTLE WORLD GO BY. AND I THINK, ‘WHY DO I NEED ANOTHER PLACE TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN MY LIFE WHEN I CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE BY REACHING OUT TO OTHERS IN THIS PLACE?”
THERE IS BEAUTY IN MY VERY OWN CITY AND MANY PEOPLE WHO COULD USE A FRIEND. WHO CAN I CONNECT WITH TODAY? WHEN I GIVE OF MYSELF I FEEL THAT I RECEIVE SO MUCH MORE IN RETURN. THIS IS WHAT ‘FEEDS’ ME AND GIVES MEANING TO MY SOUL. DAILY I SEEK A CONNECTION, AN INTIMACY WITH GOD. AND I SEE THE ‘OTHER’ IN YOU. TIME TO MAKE A CALL….
