Out To See What I Can See
Terry was out golfing for a few hours (surprise!) and my favourite housekeeper was giving my home the deep clean that I can’t manage so I decided to go out for a drive.
The smoke was so heavy from the northern fires that Paula arrived wearing a mask and carrying her oxygen! Yikes.
So I knew that I would mostly be staying in my car.
I had no destination in mind but with a half a tank of gas in my vehicle, a full bottle of water, and a quick prayer, I randomly headed west to see what I could see.
I turned north at the highway and ended up driving around the town of Morinville which is northwest. Although the smoke was heavy in some areas, it made for some pretty, hazy photos which I like.
I pulled over to see the interesting Fable Gardens House. Their website says :
Fable Gardens is located in the town of Morinville, 20 minutes from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It is a magical, fantasy world of Fairy Tale cottages whose sloped roofs nearly touch the ground.
Comprising of a reception and meeting Hall, the Fable Cottage Centre and beautifully landscaped grounds, Fable Gardens is an ideal venue for Weddings, Events, Receptions, Banquets, Dances, Photo Sessions and Tourist Attractions …
It also looked like it housed a daycare. Very fun architecture.
I started choosing random back roads and found this interesting dilapidated old house and barn.
I drove through an old graveyard….and a bit of a car graveyard too. I can see myself painting the image of the car with that colourful cement tank.
I love seeing the combines working their fields at this time of year.
And I loved my day alone just looking around to see what I could see.
Lots to see if we just take the time to look.
