Battersea Power Plant

On Hallowe’en we took a cab to see the renovated Battersea Power Station. It sat vacant for years but finally opened to the public as a mall which contains many stores, restaurants, a movie theatre, and an elevator in one smoke stack that takes you to a viewing station of the city of London.

It was cool to read all of the information about the station and to see the amazing 360 degree views. After our walkabout in the Station we found lunch in a new neighbourhood with an old pub.

It looked SO pretty from the outside and when I saw all of the fake flowers inside, it reminded me of our own “Brew and Bloom” restaurant in Edmonton. But I made the mistake of looking….up! There were cobwebs and dust everywhere, the place was just thick with them. Ewwwwwww. It was a very strange lunch for a few reasons and we were quick to get out of there.

That evening we had the extreme pleasure of seeing our last West End show of the vacation : Sunset Boulevard. I cannot say enough about how great this updated version was AND we had legroom. Woo Hoo!

We didn’t see many costumes as I had hoped since it was Hallowe’en (my favourite day) but after the show we found an outdoor patio (the weather still so mild!) and watched the parade of oddness as we enjoyed a late night pizza.
