The Dominant Variant

“ Life is good when you are happy; but much better when others are happy because of you. “

Have you noticed how angry people seem to be today?

Just open up Facebook(as one example) to see the ranting and raving of maskers vrs. anti-maskers (for only one issue) and you can feel the steam rising from your computer/phone screens.

There is a lot of unhappiness out there and some of it comes from wanting our lives to be good …at any cost.

Living for ourselves can bring us temporary happiness. Living for others can bring us a lifetime of happiness.

It’s a new year and the year is 2022. So far, it’s a pretty crappy start to the year. What do you read/hear out there…..?

“We have Covid. We despise the cold. Our flight was delayed or cancelled. Our neighbours are the worst. I can’t stand our government leaders. “ These are only some of the recent complaints I have heard others say. I could go on and on and I bet you could too!

But what if we tried to think of one positive thing a day? What if we DID one positive thing a day?

You know, the other day I read all of the little notes I had written that I wrote every week of 2021. And you know what? I had a really great year! I DID!

And although I /we have the dreaded Covid and it’s not fun by any means, I have had lovely people in my life offer to bring us food or whatever we might need as we lock ourselves away. That makes me feel SO good despite how bad I feel. There really are a ton of good people out there who do secret acts of kindness every day.

Let’s join that group. Let’s try and remember why we’re here. Let’s make love ‘the dominant variant’ and find one positive thing to say or do every single day.

We can DO this!
