Red’s Room Concert
The 3 photos below are of our ‘music room’ concert rehearsal /show set up. We have music …just in case…and our computer on a ladder ready to go!
The show must go on.
Playing a show with Covid. Now THAT’S dedication if I say so myself…ha ha.
It’s been one week now and hopefully we are actually turning a corner on this thing. It’s hard to know because everyday we still feel tired and ‘coldy’.
But this show was booked for us months ago out of Los Angeles so we didn’t want to cancel .
On Friday night we will be part of 5 groups of Christian songwriters who will each have a 20 minute slot to perform their tunes .
“Red” found me through my Facebook music page I think and we did a concert online with him last year.
I think we were the only group with perfect sound which is a tribute to our sound engineer daughter, Emily, who set it all up for us.
This time, because we are in quarantine, Em walked Terry through it on Zoom and he actually remembered where all the cords were to be plugged in!
So ….I hope we survive! Ha ha.
We are still able to sing , at least we could in rehearsals so I’ll finish writing this after the concert…..
Here are some photos (above) from our Red’s Room Zoom concert.
Kim Krenik did a really great job as our host for the night. She was diligent in finding out interesting information for each of our introductions…. and funny too!
SpiritLine was second in the line-up for the evening and I thought I was doing pretty well after singing harmonies to Terry’s first three original songs. But at 8:30 at night and still struggling for clear notes and full breath my voice cut out in my very first song! This discombobulated me for a few notes but I got back on track eventually.
I sang my songs, “ I Miss You”, “ The Lord is My Strength and My Song” , and a Carolyn Arends cover, “ New Year’s Day” .
After our set we knew we couldn’t sit for 2 hours on our stools so we moved to the living room and watched/listened to the rest of the show from the comfort of our ‘lazy boy’ chairs. There was even a preacher there (Richard G.) who took time to take us through some bible verses and prayer! Robert and Charlene Taylor, Robert Coleman, and Richard Andrew sang some lovely songs .
It’s always an honour to be asked to perform in “Red’s Room” . Just glad we could make it through our set and hopeful that our Covid symptoms will leave us soon.
