More Company!
After a very long two day journey, my sister and hubby finally landed in Kona a little after 10 pm.. (3 am their time).
It was a long journey of driving through snow storms and getting up at 4:30 am to catch the flight that would lead them to an 8 1/2 layover in Calgary. But they said that just knowing they were going to have their first experience of beautiful Hawaii made it all worth it.
We surprised them with a Lei each and although they’d only had about 4 hours sleep in 2 days we ended up having tea and a chat till about midnight.
The next day we decided to take things slow so we enjoyed some whale and surfer watching from our balcony in the morning and Terry made us a yummy eggs, bacon, and pancakes breakfast.
After that we spent the day at the condo pool where we chatted, read our books, swam, and when Terry was done his workout he and Dave tried their hand at ‘boogie boarding’ in the surf.
The problem is that they were knocked about by the waves onto the rocks and both of them returned bleeding from various body parts. (Terry had cuts in his right knee and Dave had them on both feet and a hand!) I guess they should have waited for a more protected area with less rocks. Poor guys.
In the later afternoon we all enjoyed a “Wizard” game in the open air games room on floor 2 with Pam crowned winner.
Salmon dinner that night and a very satisfying day with our company here in Kona.
