Drawing Close
There is nothing like being near the powerful surf of the ocean.
Something about the rhythmic swells …the soft roaring, the turquoise waves sparkling under the white sun , that can feel like meditation. Being near the ocean can draw me close to God as I pray my daily rosary and thank Him for my many blessings.
These last couple of days have been lovely. I notice my body trying hard to heal itself, the bruising fading, the pain lessening …I’m even able to drive again.
I enjoy drawing close to my husband as we adapt into these slower rhythms too. We don’t have all of our usual commitments that we would have at home so we can choose how late to stay up or long to sleep in!
We don’t have to do much to feel at peace here in Hawaii.
This year we only brought simple art supplies : graphite pencils, a set of coloured pencils, and a sketch pad each. We sit by the ocean and we draw.
I know it is very cold in Canada right now.
I’m letting the heat soak into my bones . I must remember this warmth.
