Wedding Dress Shopping

I was honoured to join our daughter, Lana, and her dear friends, and sister, Emma, for a trip to The Wedding Boutique in Edmonton to look for her wedding dress.

Everyone was waiting with nervous excitement at the yard across the street while we waited for our exact appointment time.

The W. Boutique did a fantastic job of asking the two brides to be (our friend, Sarah, is also getting married!) what was appealing to them in styles, (they actually both brought photos on their phones)and they handled choosing the sizes, and coming up with some of their own ideas with grace and class.

The girls were treated with respect with regards to modesty and we had an hour for each ‘bride’ to do their fashion show!

Sarah showed off some of her tattoos before she entered the curtained room. (Her unnamed friend arrived and didn’t wish to be shown on social media.)

We all had so much waiting for each dress to be revealed. We all took lots of photos so that the girls could decide later. But when the curtain was pulled back one time and Lana had tears of joy in her eyes I wasn’t surprised when she told us she had found THE dress.

And it is a good choice : flattering, indicative of her personality, beautiful materials, and only enhanced Lana’s own natural beauty. Of course Mama had to shed a few happy tears as well.

I can show you Sarah in one of the dresses because she did not fancy any of the gowns in that shop. She looks amazing!

After our late afternoon in the shop, Alissa had to fly home to Vancouver, and Sarah’s friend had to ‘jet’ too.

So just my girls and Sarah and I went out for dinner to the Cactus Club Café.

Lana said that she was so anxious about the whole experience that her ‘FitBit” gave her a “Congratulations” for the massive workout she did… ha ha ha.

I can’t wait till her father , family, and friends see our lovely daughter, Lana, this November. Happy tears will be shed.
