A Very Happy Birthday

Birthdays have always been very special to me and to our whole family when I was growing up….and still to this day.

Celebrating the day someone was born was huge because our love for that person was huge.

So it was lovely to be celebrated a few times upon becoming a senior this year.

My sister, Paula, took the time to be with us before she left for the east coast to visit with our families there. (I’ll be with you soon!)

And our daughter, Emma and partner, Geoff, joined us for dinner too before they left on tour to play in Estonia, Europe!

I chose “Nello’s” in St. Albert because I love Italian food and wanted to go somewhere different for that kind of meal. We were not disappointed!

I feel that I have a real spirit for living and feeling appreciative of the gift.

It was fun to celebrate my life with people around me that I love.

The food was also delicious and I received beautiful roses from Em and Geoff and an amazing coffee maker for one cup at a time from Paula. Wow! So spoiled!

On my actual birthday I started off the day right with tea and scones with my dear friend, Cathy Harvey. What a wonderful chat we had! Thanks, Cathy, for the wonderful morning and the gift of…you!

Then it was off to a funeral for my friend, Marguerite Schmitz from my pool group. I’ll miss her light so much and I only knew her for a few months!

Terry baked my favourite cake when I returned home (he was golfing…ha ha) and that evening we went to the Bistro Praha for German food. (More good food!) Then it was out to the Citadel Theatre to watch the musical “Prison Dancer”. This is a play based on a video that went viral of prisoners in the Philippines that posted themselves dancing to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller”. Very good.

Feeling loved and that it’s not so bad becoming a senior!

It was a very happy birthday and a happy Mother’s Day too.
