The Beach House

I have been to Kingsville many times. I love this small town and my sisters and I have been here many times for shopping and eating in the quaint restaurants. We’re all sad that our favourite teahouse, Annabelle’s, has permanently closed. Boo.

The other favourite restaurant of ours is called ,Jack’s, which is a local pub with great food.

I was blessed to have another day with my bestie, Barb, so after noon mass at Good Shepherd, we headed out to Kingsville for lunch.

It was a big surprise to find another wonderful place to eat that I have never heard of before. It is called the Beach House Grill and like its name it is a beach themed restaurant right across from a beach. (In all these years I didn’t even really think of Kingsville even HAVING such a beautiful shoreline. Weird.)

The Beach House has a HUGE menu and it was actually difficult to choose from all the delicious sounding items…and I was starving.

We were both delighted with the quality of our lunches ! I had a quesadilla and Barb had a ‘shepherd’s pie’. After lunch we headed across to the lighthouse and came to Mettawas Park and the Battram Family Garden. We could see the water from atop the hill so we ventured down to get a closer look.

There were townhouses right on the beach that had the most wonderful view of the water. The chairs above are on someone’s private patio. Just beautiful.

It was really lovely to breathe in the air, feel the sun on our faces, and realize that this view was what the people that lived there experienced on a daily basis. Sigh.

Before we left town we drove over to one of our favourite haunts in Kingsville : “Cindy’s”.

Cindy’s is an eclectic mix of giftware and clothing. We both found a few ‘treasures’ there (Barb found gorgeous new boots!) and then took a few photos outside at the ‘big chair’. Time to head back and part ways for now. A big thank-you to Barb for the wonderful day.

I was spoiled with a surprise dinner provided by my sister, Mary, when we got back : Greek salads with chicken and pita bread. Absolutely yummy ….AND she brought over homemade banana bread! Thank you, Mary!

Our time here in Ontario is fast approaching its conclusion. What a great visit this has been!
