Off To Crescent Falls
We headed out to the very small town of Nordegg which is basically one road long, so that we could gas up before heading to the falls.
“Nordegg is a hamlet in west-central Alberta, Canada within Clearwater County. It is located in the North Saskatchewan River valley in the foothills of the Canadian Rockies, just east of the intersection of the David Thompson Highway and the Highway 734 spur of the Bighorn Highway. Nordegg exists because of the coal mine, which shut down in the 1950s. It's now the Brazeau Collieries Mine National Heritage Site that offers guided tours of the industrial coal mine site during the summer months.” ( Wikipedia)
There are 53 people living here permanently and it is a beautiful location for cottagers like us.
I love seeking out waterfalls, can you tell? Paula found this one and although the walk down was fairly steep and the terrain rather uneven , I’m so glad Albert and I made it down. ( He sprained his ankle some time ago and then…re-sprained it. Ugh!) You can see the height by the wedding photos being taken below us. (Thanks, Paula)
Returning home, Paula and I found time to do our rosary together, Terry found a place for his hammock, and Albert found a place to nap as well. Then Paulie made us homemade burgers with carmelized green beans(from my garden!)
The rest of the evening involved music! Terry woke up with an entire song in his head (I LOVE those kind of gifts) and so we all joined in once we caught the tune and took turns singing and playing for the rest of the evening.
A very good day.
