Summer Holidays With My Sister and Her Husband

SO much to celebrate so we decided to take a week to do it!

Off to Nordegg with Paula and Albert to celebrate: Albert’s retirement, Terry’s birthday, our 40th, and Paula’s milestone of being eleven years cancer free!

We started off our journey by attending St. Agnes where Paula and Albert finished their 6 “Holy Saturdays” of leading the rosary for an end to the Russian War. It was beautiful to pray with their church and then attend mass.

Off to a really nice Italian restaurant afterwards that we have here called Ragazzi for a delicious meal and then ready to go the next day with cars packed and an invitation from the Air B & B lady to check in early to start the holidays off as soon as we want!

What a beautiful day to go on holidays. Terry and I continued to listen to our current audio book “The Candid Life Of Meena Dave” while we headed towards Nordegg which is about 3 hours from our home.

We stopped for a picnic lunch at Constable Chelsey Park (named after an RCMP member who crashed her car while looking for an impaired driver) and we also made a pit stop at a cute country store.

I just loved the message of one of the items for sale : “ What you do today is important because you are exchanging a day of your life for it….”

I want to make every day count.

Well, I think I can safely say that Paula found an excellent choice for our week away. This cottage is beautifully appointed with every possible thing you could need and it’s gorgeous too. (Check out that welcome basket!)

Plenty of gentle deer to greet us as we pulled up and lots of critters to be seen .

We arrived in separate vehicles with much food and supplies. The first night we enjoyed my turkey chilli which Terry got ready and served it up with his homemade corn bread muffins. Yum.

Then it was out to the fire pit for the evening. I thought I would do anything to get the perfect photo but Albert crawled on his bare knees on the stones so that I could take a picture of him “in” the fire…ha ha.

Feeling very grateful for this time of celebration, family, and love.
