Meeting Dandelion

We met a real sweetheart!

Our daughter, Emma, and her partner, Geoff, have fostered a few dogs and we didn’t think they would every own their own because they are usually/often on tour ( in the ‘before times’).

But with lockdowns, and gathering restrictions , etc., it has been incredibly difficult for these two incredible musicians from “Bad Buddy” to find work. So staying home has been very stressful indeed.

They did have lots of time to discuss what the future might look like for the band and one of the things they agreed upon was less touring and more large festivals when Covid calms down.

For the sake of their mental and physical well-being they both decided that Geoff’s Christmas present this year was going to be a new pet. And so it came to be after months of looking, deciding, and being decided upon….they chose their new puppy whom they named “Dandelion”.

Dandelion is the most calm, loving and sweet puppy I’ve ever met!

They brought her over to our home the other night and although I had reservations about a possible hyper puppy who might pee all over my carpets and chew up things….it was not like that at all.

Dandelion immediately snuggled up to me and adored getting his head and body scratched. She was quiet and calm and such a beauty too.

We had fun watching Emily training her as Em has done all her fostered dogs previously. Fascinating and it is already paying off.

I finally had the chance to give Geoff part of his belated Christmas gift (a fly-fishing backpack) and I wore the new “Twiggy” earrings that Emma gave me for Christmas this year.

I made us a nice rib dinner with homemade pasta salad and air fried brussel sprouts. Very good if I say so myself!

The conversation was wonderful and varied and after dinner we played our favourite card game (Wizard) while Dandelion slept near us on the rug.

She is a Lab/ Blue Heeler cross ( like a sheep herder) and was born in a rescue where her mum lived. At 8 weeks old till 5 months she was fostered and currently weighs about 37 lbs.

I think this lovely doggie is going to do worlds of good for these two . Walking her for health benefits (all around) and just having another body to love.

I’m already in love myself!
