Flying Home in Time for Hallowe’en Hijinx
What a harrowing drive we had to London in order to catch our flight to Calgary! After an absolute gorgeous month away in Ontario, the skies opened up in ‘walls’ of water which continuously pounded our rental car (with the help of 50 trucks and their backsplash!) all the way there.
But we arrived safely and our flight to Calgary was smooth and uneventful….just the way I like it. As you can see I am looking spectacular in my new ‘onion glasses’, seniors bib, and wine in hand. HA HA HA.
Our connecting WestJet flight was delayed one hour while they warmed up the plane (they couldn’t have started a little earlier?) and then we waited about as long to retrieve our luggage at the other end. But again : we were safe, our luggage arrived, and we were so happy to sleep in our own bed that night. (Love my little welcome home note in my office from my sister, Paula).
After a day spent doing all the usual returning home activities : unpacking, laundry, groceries, etc., we made a call to see if we could take Albert out for his belated birthday gift from us.
We all decided to dress up for Hallowe’en and go out to Brewster’s for dinner. O.K. to be honest, Paula and I decided to dress up. The boys made a concession to the theme and wore Hallowe’en colours.
But I wanted to take a lot of photos before we left… so you can see our medieval queen, Paula, and myself, in my new Hallowe’en themed dress.
We had a tasty meal at the pub and then we left and went over to Vi’ for Pies for dessert. Just great to see those guys again.
After mass, Hallowe’en morning, we met Jazz, Sebastien, and our godson, Noah for breakfast at Hap’s. Jazz has the same birthday as Albert so now it was her turn to have a belated birthday celebration.
The staff dressed up. You can see Hap himself as the brooding cowboy in the second photo above.
We had a really nice catch up and meal and then it was home to get ready for the rest of the day.
The next day these photos came in from our family. “Remilia Aehart” and “Marskeleton” were photoshopped by our son, D.
Looks like a good and safe time was had by all.
Happy belated Hallowe’en! And happy “All Souls Day” !
