Christ Church Concert
Last year Terry and I attended some of the free concerts at Christ Church Anglican and we thought we’d put our name in the ‘hat’ to see if we could headline one of the concerts the following year.
We were so pleased to find out that we had indeed been chosen to entertain on August 16th, 2023!
What is so cool about these concerts is that there is basically a ‘built in audience’. Folks know that there will be a free concert every wednesday in July and August and it’s rain or shine! If it’s sunny we’re all outside and if it’s raining we go in the church hall for the show.
Terry and I completed our sound check on the night and we figured there were about 150 people in the audience by the time we came out of the hall to sing for the folks.
We even got paid to do the show which was lovely and it was only 45 minutes.
The only negative thing I can think of with regards to the evening were that the mosquitoes were horrible! I had plenty of bug spray on but to no avail…ha ha. (Oh, and we forgot to press record on our phone set up too…ha ha…D’oh!)
The delightful response of the audience more than made up for it though and we so enjoyed ourselves too.
Maybe we can perform there again sometime.
