Sunny Sunday
Feeling pretty blessed. Not only to hear about the big snow falls in Michigan, etc., and to be here in this beautiful weather…but also near our family and friends who are now arriving pretty steadily.
We started off with brunch and then mass online today with Fr. Rob Galea from Australia. Love him.
We had no sooner finished breakfast when Jeff (the groom-to-be) showed up looking for a table! It was a delicious meal and once we had freshened up and finished mass and prayers we decided we needed to get out and explore Long Beach for a day.
We had connected with my brother, John and his wife, Nancy to see if they wanted to join us but they had only just arrived and wanted to settle in. So off we went to check our Angel’s Gate Park.
At the top of a high cliff sits the “Korean Bell Of Friendship” given to the American people and it is quite impressive too. It was extremely windy up there but perfect for kite flying and although difficult to see, there are 3 kites in the one photo above.
We then drove closer to the ocean where we saw a very different looking lighthouse. It actually IS a house! It has been there since 1874 and is surrounded by glorious trees and flowers.
Next up, we drove back towards our area of Long Beach and went for a snack on the beach. Really good chicken caesar wraps!
We had a quick “Hello” with newly arrived “D, J, and R” when we returned then off to dinner later with our other son, “J”, and his family.
