Beautiful Waterton

Terry brought his golf clubs and thought he would check out the club in town for the day.

So after I dropped him off I thought I would just check out random roads near town and see where they would lead. After a couple of literal “dead ends” I followed a road for many winding curves that led me to a beautiful dead end called ‘Red Rock Canyon’.

As expected, the deep canyon is a beautiful, deep colour auburn and I happened to capture a wee chipmunk on a giant rock in the above photo. Can you see him? I am not able to hike anymore so I just took some photos and drove back down in time to pick up Terry from his below par game!

We discovered the lovely Cameron Falls right in Waterton and then driving on a bit more we discovered another gorgeous lake called, “Bertha”.

Again the ground was pure stones but the stones/small rocks IN the clear water seemed a bit smaller so Terry suggested that we try one more time to safely get me in. Yikes! It was a boiling hot day again and we both wanted to cool off. So instead of my flimsy water shoes, I changed into my good walking sandals and bathing costumes on we headed back to this beach for another try to get me into deep water.

Terry held me firmly and we both noticed that there seemed to be only one layer of rocks so they were less slippery and less likely to catch an ankle. SUCCESS!

The water felt so good but it was also super cold mountain water so we didn’t stay in too long.

We spent the rest of the day hanging out, reading, playing our Tile Rummy game, and looking forward to High Tea at the Prince of Wales hotel.
