Mall Walking (Part Two)

I am happy to report that now my sister, Paula, has requested to walk with me since she also doesn’t feel comfortable to walk outside with all the ice and cold.

The West Edmonton Mall opened in stages starting in 1981, attracts more than 30 million visitors a year, twice as many as Disneyland!

One thing that is also unique about it is that is has so many amazing things inside it that one normally wouldn’t expect to see in a shopping mall. There is a full mini golf course and a glow-in-the-dark mini golf course too!

There have been lots of animals over the years for people to watch but currently there are a couple of playful sea lions who put on a show for folks at least once a day. There is also a massive waterpark inside the mall.

Once, when our friend, Dave, was visiting we took him and my sister to the waterpark for the day. We had fun swimming in the manufactured waves and having drinks …you know…the kind with little umbrellas…. by the side of the pool. There are tons of waterslides too (none of which I tried) but the braver of us tried some of the highest ones!

There are at least three food courts that I can think of and they either carry fast food options or box restaurants’ fare like Moxie’s or Earl’s.

The decor is very updated in the mall and most likely you could find at least two stores that will have what you are looking for….(actually, more like ten!)

They used to even have a submarine ride (which I took with my Father when he once visited) and I noticed they have ‘swan’ paddle boats now.

Take a wheelchair, a cart, the train, or even a plush animal to ride around the mall. But make sure to visit the full size amusement park inside too!

For now, I’ll stick to my mandate to walk the mall. Off I gooooooo.
