High Jumping
It has been raining a portion of every day since we arrived in Van but one morning our daughter-in-law, “J” asked if we wanted to play at the beach since it was supposed to be nice the next morning. SO glad we did.
The flowers are just waiting to bloom out fully and all they need is a little bit of warmth.
We met up at Jericho beach near our home away from home and although Terry and I felt we had to wear layered coats (scarves, hats, gloves) it was pleasant enough.
Soon, Papa had the boys running around playing ‘Disk boots” ( A made up version of Disk Golf but instead of baskets the guys were throwing the frisbee into the boys’ boots which they had placed around the area.) Before we knew it socks were also off the boys (and coats) and all the guys were on the run and sweating . ha ha ha. They were having a blast.
J and myself had some really good conversations about motherhood and social media, etc. ….especially since the adults had recently watched the show “Adolescence”. Woah. Talk about powerful. Upsetting. A true commentary on all sorts of issues. VERY much worth watching though. I guarantee you a great discussion with someone else who has watched it.
When it was close to the time we should depart as J had errands we somehow ended up teaching the boys all how to do the long jump. Our oldest guy is in track and field this year.
They did great and it was so cute to watch the youngest one try and do it.
I had a funny comment from one of my friends who said that I had come a long way with my long jump since last year….ha ha. It was teaching with our WORDS….ha ha.
As we were leaving the rains came in again. Ah well. It was a great morning at the beach.
