Shannon Falls
We had a day to ourselves! Despite the rain it turned out to be another great one.
For Lent we decided that we would attend Adoration at church on Fridays. It was beautiful once again. Then after breakfast at the Zen café (our home away from home “Hap’s”) we headed out, through the downtown to West Van ,and Shannon Falls.
It took us about an hour to get there after we arrived over the bridge but it was a beautiful, misty drive.
Once we reached the provincial park we had to walk slightly uphill through a forested area which can be described as almost magical. The bright green moss made everything look part spooky and partly soft and pretty.
Shannon Falls in British Columbia is the third-tallest waterfall in the province, reaching a height of 335 meters (1,099 feet). I stayed at the lower part and Terry continued on up to the high level.
After our time at the falls we were cold and it was lunchtime so we drove to Squamish village and ate at a Cajun restaurant called The Copper Coil Still and Grill where we enjoyed bowls of meatless Mac n’ Cheese with corn bread. Yum. The staff let us play Tile Rummy after lunch too.
We noticed quite a few interesting murals as we were leaving to return home.
So as to avoid the rush hour traffic over the bridge we went to a Cineplex movie called “Mickey 17”. Gotta say it was really weird….even for a sci-fi. And long. But : we missed all the wait time and got home safely that evening after the show.
It was a lovely day with my guy.
