Praying, Painting and Playing
I’ve dreamed about these moments for 2 years : just hanging out, being near my family in Ontario. We don’t have to do anything amazing. It’s just nice to come over , have morning coffee or afternoon tea together, chat, be.
My plans changed today and suddenly I was freed up to enjoy the company of my parents and my sisters, Paula and Mary, who are staying with them at this time. Paula also flew in from Alberta and Mary, who is in the process of moving to northern Ontario ( Trout Lake) returned home too. Mary is very very busy helping her husband and son pack up the rest of their things in preparation for a long night of driving it all Up North.
I started off the day praying the rosary with my Mum and Paula. It feels amazing to pray together. “Where 2 or 3 are gathered…”
Our mom and Dad had just returned from getting their 2nd booster shots at Shopper’s and Paula and I decided that we would head out and do the same thing….success! It didn’t hurt at all and so far just a sore arm for the trouble.
Getting home, Mum asked us if we needed a calculator for anything. I love our family : anything for a laugh! ( Biggest calculator EVER! ha ha ha)
Our afternoon was one of quiet creativity. Dad finished his ‘barn painting’ . Paula had completed her ‘turtle’ and then did another alcohol ink project of some pretty flowers. Mum worked on a lovely little floral image card that she painted with watercolours.
I painted an image photographed by a man named Bob Lloyd and was able to work on music too.
After a simple supper of leftovers that Mary kindly served for us from all kinds of meals she found in the fridge, we bookended the day with online mass.
I feel like I walked on sacred ground today, surrounding ourselves with prayer and the love we share.
