Mini Golf Merriment

My dear ‘bestie’ Barb knows I love surprises. When she found out I had some free time she booked a couple of adventures for both of us to enjoy.

It was a blustery but blue sky day when she picked me up at my hotel and we headed off on our escapade. We drove into the county and all I knew was that we would have lunch and a walk somewhere.

We meet up every week on “Zoom” with our other besties so we were mostly caught up on news so we just enjoyed the ride and each other’s company. SO good to see each other in person too.

Barb had also never been to the chosen destination but we eventually arrived at “Ure’s Country Kitchen” diner and mini golf place.

What fun! I can’t remember the last time I played mini golf and neither could she.

The Country Kitchen had a small menu but everything looked yummy. Barb ordered up the clubhouse sandwich and I had a grilled cheese and bacon sandwich….both good! I took some time to walk around and look at all the kitchy decorations and we both enjoyed the convenience store at the back that housed all kinds of treats from our childhoods.

After this is was time to head out to play our mini golf game.

There were no other patrons there so we had the whole place to ourselves…woohoo!

Now I have to tell you that I am a bit of a ‘wiz’ when it comes to mini golf. Oh ya, I’ve been known to hit less than 12 shots a hole! HA HA HA.

But what I think neither of us expected is that Barb would almost hit par every single hole! SHE WAS HOLDING OUT ON ME!!!!! And the par was TWO!

I fully blame my score on the wind flipping my hair over my eyes and my large skirt blocking my view! HA! We had a great time and so many laughs.

Have you ever played mini golf or ‘goofy golf’ ? I’ve certainly played harder courses where you have to shoot the ball through all kinds of moving targets but it didn’t matter…I still had a tough time…ha ha.

This place was a wonderful find and I would certainly head out there again.

Barb did end up winning our match but at least I can say I was the only one who achieved a ‘hole in one’ that day.

Thanks, Barbara, for a fun day…

Looking forward to our next adventure in the States in a couple of days!
