My Festival of Trees Artwork Honours

A while back I wrote a blog about being chosen to be “The” artist for the Festival of Trees for 2021.

Not only was I so honoured and thrilled with this appointment but the committee asked me to do a second painting!

The panels above show some of the stages of the painting to its finished state.

Friends happened to go to the hospital (The Kaye Centre?)and they saw my painting’s image in the form of an ‘elevator wrap’ …so in other words, the whole elevator doors were covered with the picture and the information about the Festival. (See above).

The image from the original painting has already been used for large, floor to ceiling posters (also seen at that Hospital), applications, and smaller informational posters. They will also be giving out ‘thank-you’ postcards after the event I am told.

I really enjoyed volunteering my time, talent and supplies to do my small part in helping support the University Hospital and this year’s cause…End stage Kidney disease.

The following is what will be displayed on the Festival’s Website…..

I just received notice that the good Festival of Trees folks have decided to cancel the indoor event due to Covid concerns so it will be moved online and some outdoor events …..like Santa. (Ugh. I was really looking forward to attending but I completely understand and agree.)

I wish the Festival every success and I’m proud of my small part in this venture to help others.
