Front Porch Concerts
With the lifting of Covid restrictions, Terry and I are very hopeful that we can do some more porch concerts this year.
You might recall that he built a stage for our front porch(which is currently dismantled but ready to be reassembled) and we held a concert last August, Labour Day Weekend -I think.
Well, this year, if we are allowed to gather, we are going to host other duos to perform for our friends and neighbours on the last Sunday of each month this summer.
SpiritLine will be the opening act (for about 15 minutes) and then we will have our guest performers play music for about 45 minutes.
Here is the tentative line-up so far….
JIm and Jan Baker perform on Sunday evening ( 7:30?), June 27th.
Bitters (Emily Bachynski and Geoffrey O’Brien) perform Sunday evening ,July 25th.
SpiritLine performs Sunday evening, August 29th.
Artists will be encouraged to sell their ‘merch’ and we are even going to check into getting some funds from the Edmonton Folk Fest who are supporting these musical community events this year.
We had such a wonderful response to the show last time. Everyone was socially distanced, encouraged to bring their own snacks and chairs, and we got to meet more of our neighbours who joined us for the fun too.
If the weather is bad we will either cancel or rebook. It’s very casual. Maybe you’d like to join us!
