Sunday Morning

I love Sunday mornings. The day of rest.

I love leading the music at mass when it’s our turn and I love sitting together in the pew and participating that way as well.

We have a wonderful, young and energetic priest named Fr. Dean Dowle. He is one of the good ones; a kind, committed to the faith, inspirational leader of our church, St. John the Evangelist.

And although people are slowly coming back to physical mass ( for a while we were only attending mass online due to Covid fears) there is a nice balance of natural social distancing ,(mask wearing, hand sanitizing) and longing to be together as a community of believers once again.

I also love the chance to see our godchild, Noah, and his mummy and daddy . We try to sit together in the same pew and it’s fun to watch the progress Noah makes as he becomes a ‘big boy’. He is SO good in church and has a hilarious low voice when he does make a peep. He likes to say, “ Ya, ya, ya, ya ,ya “.

After mass it is tradition to head over to our favourite ‘greasy spoon’, Hap’s, for brunch. They always have the coffee flowing, good food, and service, and the price …is right! It is also our tradition to treat our ‘guests’ each week. Just come and enjoy!

Our little guy is already learning how to have wonderful manners in a restaurant, that is except when he’s flirting with the cute women at the table next to us…ha ha.

We all catch up on our weeks (Jazz is a teacher and her husband, Sebastièn, is a policeman) and there are always stories!

It’s a great start to the day! A great start to the week!

Looking forward to this Sunday morning….(and my afternoon Zoom call tradition with my ‘besties’ from Calgary, Waterloo, and Tecumseh, Ontario).
