A Commercial
Our dear friend, Cathy Harvey, gave us an incredible gift this summer.
She introduced us to “Hello Fresh”, a company that provides everything you need to make a delicious dinner….AND she paid for an entire week of this wonderful service to help us out with all of our family visits.
They deliver to Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia, Québec, Newfoundland, and the Maritimes.
If you don’t have time to go shopping, or have difficulty shopping, need help meal planning, or just want to steer clear of stores…this service might be for you.
I was so impressed with the large box that arrived after we chose our meal plans online. The package was very protected with double boxing and inside there was a pillow case type freezer bag with ice packs surrounding the fresh meat. But you don’t have to choose meat as there are many other options for vegans and gluten free, etc.
Inside the paper bag for this particular meal,( Maple Glazed Chicken), there were two, raw potatoes, a lemon, 2 garlic cloves, a bag of green beans, and three spice packages.
The recipe tells you exactly what to do first as far as pre-preparation and oven temperature, as well as a few things you will need to provide like measuring cups, baking pans with parchment paper, measuring spoons, and butter.
This recipe was supposed to be a thirty minute cooking time….and it was!
The step by step instructions were easy to follow and the result ? Delicious!
I’ve used services similar to this where you order the whole pre-cooked meal but I found the meals pretty bland and unexciting.
Because you are cooking the Hello Fresh meals yourself, the kitchen smells wonderful and the meal tastes even better.
Just one more thing you should know….if you don’t intend to use the service every week….make sure you cancel your subscription or you will still be charged and the meals will keep coming! (It’s easy to cancel)
Sorry about the ‘commercial’ here but I just wanted to share this company with you incase you thought it might be helpful for you sometime.
Bon Appetit!
( And thanks, once again, to Cathy for her super generous gift!)
