Is Peeling Paint Appealing? (Part 1)

Quite frankly, I think peeling paint can look quite beautiful.

In fact, that is the number one reason I love to paint old cars and trucks. I love the colours that appear when their layers start to strip off due to weather and age.

In my opinion, fencing also has a particular beauty as the paint wears away. Just don’t ask me to paint your fence.

I took to some of the alleys in our Edmonton neighbourhoods north of the river to see what I could see.

You never know what people will have back there. Very interesting and sometimes a bit scary.

One doesn’t want to drive too slowly through because people will think you’re trolling for goods. And you don’t want to go too quickly because someone might suddenly pop out of their garage in a hurry.

Beauty seen where most see ugliness.

Peeling away layers to see some of that beauty.

Looking beyond the obvious.

Hmmmm.

I suppose that reminds me of all of us.

Not only do we hope others will see our beauty but we have to find a way to find it within ourselves.

I loved taking photos like this.

(But I really hope our own fence doesn’t get this worn……. my artistic eye might wrestle with the man of the house and his perspective….ha ha)
