Sunday With Steve
Don’t you just love Sundays?
I love this ‘day of rest’ for many reasons…not the least of all the rest…ha ha.
But Sundays for us start with mass.
We have a vibrant Catholic church with a wonderful, young priest, all kinds of ministries filled with volunteers, many different choirs types, one of which is mine and Terry’s. T is such a great person in so many ways. For the last 2 times we had to lead mass he knew that I had these sore shoulders so he chose the music (my job) and played guitar for me! (He has also appointed himself ‘gardener’ at the church and spent days and days cleaning them up for fall.)
After mass a group of us head over to “Hap’s” for brunch and have a wonderful meal and good conversation.
And finally, after that I get on my Zoom call with my ‘besties’ who live in Calgary, Tecumseh, and Kitchener and we chat for hours. What ‘covid gift’!
During the evening of this particular Sunday we went to see Steve Bell at the Sherwood Park Alliance church.
He is one of my absolute favourite Christian singers. (You don’t have to be Christian to appreciate him though. He is funny, insightful, has great stories, and is a deep thinker. His band is incredible too.) We have a c.d. from his piano player Mike Jansen and he is amazing as well. It was not surprising that we loved the show.
It was surprising that when we got there we ended up sitting with a whole whack of of our friends from the Marian Centre who had centre seats available and gave them to us!
Steve Bell performs in Alberta most years. If you have a chance…..GO! (Steve is the 3rd photo over below)
