The Stations Of The Cross
For 41 years Terry and I went out on a weekly Friday night date. Usually to dinner and a movie.
We didn’t make it to many evenings at the church during Lent where the Stations of the Cross were observed.
Then Covid came. And everyone stayed home.
Now we don’t go on Friday night dates anymore because, honestly, we just don’t want to be smashed next to tons of strangers who may or may not be carrying the disease. So we are blessed to go to matinees when we can.
Our next few Friday nights are now open for us to lead the music for the Stations of the Cross.
This is a time of contemplating the suffering of our Lord.
There are plaques all around Catholic churches that depict the stations and there is usually a leader who will read what each station is about while the congregation can physically move to each picture or stay in their seat and follow along that way.
It is so lovely at night with the church lit up with candles or soft lighting and Terry and I hope to bring some beautiful, contemplative music to the service to enhance the experience.
We are going to start off with a new song of mine that isn’t even recorded yet called “All Is Grace” than we are going to sing Acapella the Stabat Mater. (The English Version)
Carrying our own crosses is never easy. But we always have the hope of Easter.
Peace, friends.
