The Kids in Kits (part two)

It started off as a rainy day.

But after mass at the beautiful St. Augustine’s and breakfast at Nellie’s the sun finally said ‘hello’.

Mass in Kits saw most people wearing masks but almost no-one making an effort to social distance. People were also encouraged to sing and they had books in the pews. (Very different from home)

Nellie’s was fun because we got served by our friend, Joyce, who knows our sons and their families and now…us after spending so much time there over the many years! Food always great and good coffee too.

I’m having a pretty tough time of it with my knees and two years without my regular pool workouts has not helped. So this year was the first time that I am having one heck of a time getting up from the furniture in our little home away from home.

This was just not acceptable for Terry and before we went to bed he had purchased lumber and made a platform to raise up the living room armchair by 6 inches! It is MUCH easier for me to stand up from it now.

We received a wonderful welcome from the boys including a lovely rainbow “ WELCOME BACK” from Otto that hung from the ceiling.

Once again there was a ton of energy and laughter and I love it all. There were also quiet times , books read, and a wonderful fish taco supper.

It’s good to be here again after being away for two years!

P.s. Hearing our little R say, “Nonny” over and over just melted my heart.
