bake your blues away

I HAVE REALLY BEEN ENJOYING BAKING . WELL, MYSELF AND THE ENTIRE WORLD APPARENTLY.   AT LEAST THAT’S WHAT IT SEEMS LIKE WHEN I TRY AND FIND FLOUR OR YEAST AT SAFEWAY. HA HA.

WHEN MY CHILDREN WERE YOUNGER I BAKED ALL THE TIME.  AND BEFORE COVID I  ONLY REALLY BAKED FOR SPECIAL OCCASIONS LIKE CHRISTMAS , BIRTHDAYS, ETC. . I DIDN’T WANT TO BAKE TOO MUCH BECAUSE I SIMPLY CANNOT RESIST EATING FRESHLY BAKED SWEETS. 

BUT WHEN I AM LOOKING FOR INTERESTING THINGS TO DO TO FILL EACH DAY I DO REALLY ENJOY TURNING TO BAKING AGAIN . I LOVE TO BAKE.  I LOVE THE FEELING OF THE DOUGH IN MY HAND OR AS I TURN IT OVER WITH A WOODEN SPOON IN A BOWL. 

I LOVE THE ANTICIPATION OF THE GOLDEN GOODNESS THAT WILL SOON BE READY AND THE AROMATIC DELIGHT THAT FILLS THE WHOLE HOUSE AS IT IS COOKING.

AND I THINK I SOLVED THE PROBLEM OF EATING TOO MUCH OF THE NEW CREATIONS.  FIRST OF ALL , I AM NOT ALONE IN THIS HOUSE SO WE BOTH BENEFIT FROM THE TEA SNACKS .  BUT ALSO I HAVE BEEN HALVING EACH BATCH AND GIVING THEM AWAY IN WEE “I LOVE YOU” CARE PACKAGES TO NEIGHBOURS AND FRIENDS IN OUR CITY. 

I USUALLY WRITE A NOTE AND ADD SOME TEA BAGS TO GO WITH THE WRAPPED COOKIES, BARS OR BREADS ,THE RECIPE ( FOR ALERGY ALERT AND INTEREST), AND SOMETIMES I ADD A SMALL GIFT …LIKE A BLANK  BOOK IN WHICH I WRITE A SUGGESTION OF TURNING IT INTO A GRATITUDE JOURNAL. 

IT IS SUCH A SIMPLE THING TO DO BUT MY LITTLE WEEKLY TRIPS OUT HAVE BROUGHT A FEW SMILES AND HAPPY EXCLAMATIONS TO THE RECIPIENTS. AND THIS MAKES ME FEEL GOOD TOO ! 

( I DID NOT SHARE THE CRÉPES WITH THE NEIGHOURS..HA HA… BUT I DID SURPRISE TERRY WITH THESE FOR BREAKFAST ON SUNDAY. MY FIRST TRY EVER WITH THESE BUT THE RECIPE IS SUPER EASY AND WE FILLED THEM WITH FRESH PINEAPPLE AND YOGURT. VERY LOW CAL AND DELICIOUS TOO. ) 

I THINK YOU WILL ENJOY ALL THE RECIPES I HAVE INCLUDED ABOVE.  BUT TRY NOT TO EAT THEM ALL YOURSELF !
