THE SNOW IS MELTING!
FOUR DAYS AGO I NEEDED A PARKA TO GO OUT. IT FELT SOOOOO GOOD TO HEAD OUT FOR A SPRING PICNIC AND NOT EVEN NEED A COAT!
WE ARE BLESSED TO HAVE MANY BEAUTIFUL PARKS IN EDMONTON, ALBERTA, AND SO FAR PEOPLE HAVE BEEN BEHAVING THEMSELVES (WITH THE SOCIAL DISTANCING) SO THE LOCAL PARKS ARE STILL OPEN.
WE WENT FOR A LOVELY WALK NEAR THE FLOWING RIVER AT HAWRELAC PARK AND SPENT SOME TIME RELAXING ON A BENCH WHILE ‘CHATTING’ WITH A POOR ONE-FOOTED SEAGULL WHO WAS HOPING FOR SOME FOOD.
WE FOUND A TABLE IN THE SUN FOR OUR LUNCH. NOTHING TOO FANCY IN THE COOKING DEPARTMENT (HOTDOGS!) BUT EVERYTHING SEEMS TO TASTE SO GOOD WHEN YOU ARE GRILLING OUTSIDE.
ON THE OTHER SIDE OF CANADA PEOPLE WERE KILLED AND HOMES BURNT DOWN IN THE WORST MASSACRE EVER SEEN IN OUR BELOVED NOVA SCOTIA. THE VIRUS ALSO CONTINUES TO TAKE LIVES ALL OVER THE WORLD.
AND SOMEHOW , SO FAR WE CAN HAVE A PICNIC IN THE SUN AND DO SIMPLE THINGS LIKE GO FOR WALKS AND ENJOY EACH OTHER’S COMPANY. I DO NOT TAKE THIS FOR GRANTED.
I AM GOING TO BE MINDFUL OF MY BLESSINGS EVERY SINGLE DAY.
YOU?
