Serious Ceramic Fun!

I’m really glad we came up with the idea of having our one-on-one days at the U Paint Ceramics place.

All of the boys have really enjoyed not only the painting but their time with us I think.

They’ve just been the best little guys, polite, interested, and talented too!.

You can see the before and after firing of our work above. (We picked up the finished work about three days later.) Nonny painted the ‘Day of the Dead’ mug, Papa did the “Bachynski Family” mug, and O did the Ice Cream Cone jar.

Then it was off for a fun snack to celebrate the day.

We had just as much fun with 5 year old, I, who was reticent about his painting abilities. But when we pulled up and he saw all the cool sculptures in the window he said, “Do we get to paint things like THOSE?” And after the affirmative he chose a plate and really enjoyed himself with his modern art design and colour choices.

When I mentioned that he was such a good artist he said, “I never knew I was but I really AM!” SO cute.

Grandpa did a companion “Bachynski” mug for his first one and I tried my hand at doing an Asian inspired piece for a dear friend of mine in town. Then it was off for snacks so the day was complete for our wee one, I.

Our last Grandson to join us for a painting day was 5 year old .

We started our day off with lunch at the White Spot , a restaurant that cares for kids wonderfully and Mjust loved his ‘Pirate Ship’ container for his mac n’ cheese and apple slices.

After our meal, it was perfect timing to head over to U Paint for our boy to choose his project. We could tell he was a bit concerned about his abilities but he SO loved painting the bunny he picked.

It was so funny when I told him not to touch any of the ceramics in case they get broken and he turned to me and said, “You break it….you buy it!” Terry painted a ‘joke gift cup’ for his sister, Laurie, and I did a little Easter plate.

We all had fun painting together and M was just so much fun to be with as well as polite and very social. After the time creating artwork Papa took him to Jericho Park near our house which we like to call “The Bunny Park” and you can see why!

Very special times with our four older boys.
