Saying Good-bye to Pysanky Fun For Another Year

I am truly going to miss my peaceful days at the Marian Centre for the next four weeks.

If you look around the spacious craft room everything seems to inspire one to feel creative and at the same time to feel the comfort of silence.

I have been sort of meditating/praying about the war in the Ukraine to end as I work on my Ukrainian eggs. Here I am in the stillness, working with such fragile ‘canvasses’ and across the world Ukrainian families are fighting for their lives amidst the screaming of falling bombs.

I chose another goose egg for my latest design. I loved the detail and was able to figure out the steps from looking at someone’s photo of their egg. I was thinking of the bird as a hopeful symbol as I painstakingly drew with wax that afternoon.

O.k. One last Ukrainian egg to share with you……

Maybe someday you’ll join me here one Lenten Season.

P.S. check out my new hairstyle for our Vancouver visit……
