Rainy Days Bring Rainbows

We’ve been coming to Kona for many years now. One of the reasons is that it almost never rains and the temperature hovers around 83 degrees.

The other day beautiful dark blue clouds could be seen dropping a wall of rain in the distance and the cooler breeze felt good!

We thought the storm was moving in our direction so we packed up a picnic and painting gear and headed away (we thought) from it by heading north.

The old airport beach is one of our favourite spots. But we were sad that somebody took away our picnic table from where we always park ourselves.

Nevertheless, we purchased inexpensive plastic chairs and happened to have them with us.

After our lunch we painted as we sat under a tree for a bit of rain protection. The rain was very light.

Here are the small paintings we’ve completed in our sketchbooks so far. Terry’s are the 1st two….

Soon it was time to pack up to get ready for weekday mass. After the nice service we went out to dinner and I was happy to see the rainbow. Such a great reminder that all will be well and light will eventually win out.
