Rehearsals for Dream

Although he had no children nearby this year Terry got lots of lovely calls for Father’s Day filled with love and news.

After mass we packed up for another fun adventure in Rosebud, Alberta.

But first the man had to open a few goodies from me and one of them was a new hat with the name of his musical, Dream.

We headed off to Rosebud because we are going to witness the very first rehearsals for this new work! The director, Morris Ertman has assembled a cast for the show and Terry has worked for weeks with Morris’s son, an accomplished musician, to put together a full score….complete with harmonies!

The weather was predicted as thunderstorms all day but we only had a few drops of rain on our 4 hour journey.

The skies were incredible. I never get tired of taking photos of those massive fields touching the puffy, dramatic cloud cover.

We barely had time to unpack before “B.J.” called us into the kitchen for dinner. It had been a long day for her (55 people in the “BMW” club arrived for tea and desserts as well as the Father’s Day families.) but she graciously fed us as well.

We enjoyed our cabbage rolls soup and ham and grilled cheese sandwiches. Yum. Comfort food extraordinaire.

We got to see our friend, Jenna, as well as she helps out in the kitchen and as a server for B.J. .

That evening we settled down to read outside until the thunder finally grumbled at us and the chilly wind blew us indoors.

I can’t wait until tomorrow!

To be continued……
